How the Referee Zone came about.

North Coast Football Referee's Zone is based on the Mid North Coast of N.S.W.(Aust)and extends from Macksville in the south to Maclean in the north and Dorrigo to the west.

The Zone has twenty-six Clubs supporting approximately 5000 players and 50 playing fields cover by one hundred and thirty referees.

Majority of fields are cover by three officials with competitions from Thursday night through to Sunday with referees travelling up to 150 kilometres to officiate in fixtures.

The Zone is made up of three area zones and based in Macksville, Coff's Harbour and Grafton. Senior appointments are appointed by the NCF appointment officer.

North Coast Football Referees Standing Committee Zone has a technical committee made up of the Branch Coaches of each Branch (or area) and a Zone Referee's. Development Manager who is responsible for administrating the training of the referees in the zone areas.

Junior referees are collect each year to attend a Training Advance Program for a week in Armidale for selection to State Title and National Title to represent to NNSW area.

North Coast Football Referees has a panel of referees to officiate in Men's 1st and 2nd Division fixtures. Referees from the lower grades are involved in a development training program to advance to 1st and 2nd Division match officiating.

Referees from the development program have the opportunity to officiate in the State League Referee's in Newcastle and to officiate in an exchange program with a Referee's Branch in Sydney.
